Overview
The ‘Dalkey Manor’ project is situated in Killiney, Co Dublin, and includes an existing period structure, Clonlost House.
The development included 21no new build houses, being a mixture of 4-bed terraces, and 3 bed mews. The exterior of the new four bed houses complement the original Clonlost House, including sash windows with granite trim to windows & doors. The homes are ‘A’ rated with an air-to-water heat pump system.
The project also included a change of use to the existing Clonlost House from retreat centre to a substantial two storey over garden level residence. The Victorian house, built in c.1860, was not a protected structure , which allowed full energy-efficiency features to be retrofitted, including insulating the entire outside of the building, rebuilding the roof with the original slates, and replacement of existing windows with new double-glazed sash windows. The retrofit also included new photovoltaic panels that generate electricity, and a heat recovery system.
